Register by November 6 as a total must be provided to the ranch seven days in advance. Originally settled in 1824 by Henry and Nancy Jones as part of Stephen F. Austin’s colony, this 23,000 acre working ranch stands as a testament to the independent spirit of Texas. Explore the lives of four generations of this remarkable family and share the experiences that molded this farming and ranching empire and helped shape the history of Texas. You will visit four homes built from the 1830s through the 1930s. The historic homes are connected by a paved loop that is approximately one mile long. A Park tram runs continuously around the loop. Dress comfortably. Fifteen people are needed to guarantee an escort; otherwise it is a self-guided tour. The 28 passenger bus will depart at 8:00 a.m. and will return at approximately 4:00 p.m.
